Hafenbar
HOW DO YOU CREATE MAXIMUM CHARACTER IN A MINIMAL SPACE?
Hafenbar is not a conventional restaurant – it’s a carefully staged space full of contrast, wit, and material storytelling. Compact in size, but rich in detail and presence. The open kitchen invites connection and dissolves the boundary between guest and preparation. do you create maximum character in a minimal space?

At the center: a golden palm tree, crafted from reclaimed pallet leaves – sculptural, tongue-in-cheek, and unmistakable. Above it floats a ceiling piece made from industrial brass cut-offs – originally waste from lamp manufacturing. Here, reimagined into an elegant light feature that blends raw material with graphic clarity.
A second key element: the glowing sign “ORGIE”, transformed from an old “Drogerie” pharmacy sign. A visual provocation – ironic, bold, and disarmingly memorable.
Light, materials, and space constantly shift between rough and refined, playful and precise. Hafenbar shows how unexpected fragments can be elevated into a distinct atmosphere – unpolished, authentic, and unmistakably personal.
