WHERE DESIGN SUPPORTS HEALING AND HUMAN CONNECTION
The Invitacare design concept envisions a therapy space emphasizing calm, light, and natural elements, allowing the sense of healing to extend beyond the individual therapy rooms. Located in the city center, the clinic focuses on young adults (ages 20–27) experiencing depression.

Developed in collaboration with Prof. Schultz-Venrath, the layout includes rooms for individual therapy, group sessions, and a “Campus area” for workshops, cooking, and social learning. The therapeutic work combines individual and group sessions with skill-building workshops, involving family and partners when beneficial. The goal is to create a secure, supportive environment promoting understanding, well-being, and recovery.

The design is open and welcoming, while also providing dedicated safe spaces for both patients and therapists. Shared areas encourage social interaction and a sense of community, while natural colors, textures, and plants foster mental well-being.
Emphasizing nature, the indoor park park “Rheoase” and natural materials support psychological recovery. Flexible, soundproof folding walls, acoustic ceilings, glass partitions, and integrated storage solutions create adaptable, functional spaces. Curved walls and natural finishes establish a soft, non-clinical atmosphere, while sustainable materials such as clay, wood, linoleum, and recycled bricks are used throughout.
